What is an automation in Odoo?
An automation is a rule that Odoo runs on its own when something happens in your operation: an event triggers a condition, that condition decides an action, the action is assigned to an owner, and everything gets logged. For example: stock drops below the minimum, Odoo detects it, creates an activity and assigns it to the person in charge of purchasing.

What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is an assistant that looks up information inside your Odoo and answers you in plain language: how much stock is left, which invoices are pending, what a report says. It doesn't replace automations: automation runs repetitive tasks on its own, the agent answers questions and helps you decide. Each agent uses controlled information, with defined permissions, and actions with real impact still need your approval.
